One of Jonah's quirky little habits right now is to give everyone he meets a name. If you do not volunteer your name, he will give you one. This is adorable. Sometimes.
Men of a certain age will be labeled "Papaw" or "Grandpa". Random men at Walmart who happen to be 20 or 30-something, will get called Daddy by a blonde-haired, blue-eyed toddler they don't know. Michael's cousin, Mark, is a young looking guy, but has graying hair. When Jonah met him, Mark's name became "Papaw-Daddy".
A little girl playing in the Chick-fil-A playground with Jonah today got called "Princess" all morning. Not by her parents.
Most of the time, I just laugh at the nicknames, shake my head and say, "isn't that cute". However, this morning's playground episode reminded me of the time it wasn't cute.
There was a four year old boy who happened to be playing at the park the same day and time our playgroup met for their annual Easter egg hunt. Jonah loves playing with older kids, so he ditched his playgroup buds and attached himself to this little boy, who happened to be African-American. If you're playing with someone, and you want to holler at them to come over, they must have a name. Jonah decided the little boy's name would be "Chocolate".

I just know he's gonna be President of the USA someday. George Bush gives people nick names too.
Oh. Crap. I guess it's time to introduce Jonah to white chocolate.
