Wanted: Dollhouse

Gracie has played with this barn EVERY day for weeks. Rapunzel and Cowboy Woody live there.

Gracie's never even seen a dollhouse. I love how she improvised one.

What's on the Fridge

Jonah's assignment was to fill in the blanks, "I'm going to ______ and I'm taking a ______"

His answer?
"I'm going to the moon and I'm taking a muffin."

When I asked him to explain, he shrugged his shoulders and said, "Cause you'd need a snack."

Forget the rocket, folks, we're taking a muffin.

100th Day

After 2 weeks of crazy arctic blasts in Texas, things are now back to normal for school. The 100th day of school FINALLY happened last Friday, and Jonah got to dress up like a 100 year old...

Hence, the bow tie. That's about as far as he would go with the idea.

Where's the snow?!!

On snow day #1, sleet pelted our house and coated our yard with ice. The temperature dropped into the teens during the day, and single digits at night. But, there was no snow.

On snow day #2, the sun did not come out. The temps stayed in the low 20's, so nothing melted. Ice still coated the yard, and there was still no snow.

On snow day #3, the sun peeked out, but the temps stayed in the low 20's, so nothing melted. Ice still coated the yard, and there was STILL no snow.

On snow day #4, we peeked out the window and saw....

SNOOOOOW!!!!!

Fortunately, you can get some traction on snow (vs. solid ice), so we were able to step out of the house, FINALLY. Jonah was so happy to find Donovan out in his yard too. Nothing like human contact after 4 days of being cooped up!

First ever Snow Day

Jonah had his first ever Snow Day on Tuesday. He was totally stoked until he realized 12 degrees with 45 mph blowing sleet meant no going outside.

Since we wouldn't let him play Toy Story 3 on the xbox all day, he finally got creative with his blocks and train tracks.

According to Jonah, this is where trains leave the mountain-top barn...

...and descends into the perilous junkyard, filled with giant man-eating bugs.

There's a lot more story after that, but giant man-eating bugs seemed like a fun place to stop ;)
