We had a playdate last Tuesday that doubled as a baby shower for The Animal Family. We love this family, and we're so excited for the arrival of Lester's two baby sisters.
I have been on a mission (for two years) to get a picture of Jonah's friend, Lester, smiling. He's actually a smiley kid, but very hard to capture on camera. His "big brother gift" finally gave me the opportunity to catch that smile! Thomas the Train does it every time.
The last few months our boys have straggled into that super possessive stage. And they are so wound up and excited to see each other at the beginning of the playdate, it takes about an hour of banging into each other, tripping over and falling off things, stealing each other's toys, and major whining before they settle down. Then all of the sudden it's peaceful cooperative playtime. I think next playdate we'll just have the boys run 5 laps around the block before playtime begins. Boot camp style. Hut, 2, 3, 4!

When we lived in CA, we knew a family at church with 5 mostly grown kids who previously lived in Portland. Their Mom would send them out to "run around the block". Turns out "the block" was up and down hill several times--very steep, like San Franciso. When they returned, all five would be in a much better mood and ready to cooperate. Cute pics! Jill is a very cute pregnant lady.
I love all the pics! The one of Lester and his big brother gift is priceless!!! Trust me....it was the highlight of his day! Thank you again Becky for putting on a great shower for us!
Cute! Good luck with the preschool boot camp. I'd like to enroll the girls if it all works out.
